Welcome One, Welcome All

Hello Friends!
Welcome to our blog!  I say "our" blog because not only am i going to be writing about what it is like to be the parent of a T1D child but about how my daughter feels about it everyday.  If you don't know about Type 1 Diabetes, or T1D, let me give you some info.  So let me just tell you some do's and don'ts...for instance...Dont ask if it is the better one of the two.  Well geez I dont know, is it better to have to be insulin dependent your whole life or to be able to control it by not eating so much junk!? Do the constant pricks and pokes hurt?  Well let's see, do you like to be poked by a needle almost 8-10 times a day maybe even more!?  Oh here's another one...is it hard keeping up with everything?  No its actually very easy to keep up with what seems like a kajillion numbers!!!

What is T1D
Type 1 Diabetes, aka Juvenile Diabetes, aka T1D, is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin.  The main treatment for this is Blood Sugar control and insulin.  There are 200K to 3M US cases per year.  That's A LOT!

Typical signs to look out for
Symptoms include increased thirst, frequent urination, hunger, fatigue, and blurred vision.
*if your child experiences any of the symptoms please consult a doctor IMMEDIATELY!*
